Ballo di Savoia 2008 Weekend Events December 12 - 14 2008

The American Foundation of Savoy Orders' annual gala, the Ballo di Savoia, was held on the evening of Saturday, December 13th, preceded and followed by several events. American Delegation members and friends of the Savoy Orders enjoyed a Welcome Reception on Friday, December 12th, which was held in the private dining room of the renowned University Club on Fifth Avenue in New York City - a magnificent Renaissance palazzo-style revival building designed by famed architects McKim, Mead and White. This was  an evening of confraternity in a setting of old-world elegance. In addition to the traditional Gala Ball on Saturday evening at the Colony Club, the Knights and Dames of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus and of the Order of Merit of Savoy participated in a Mass and Investiture on Saturday morning, December 13th at the Lady Chapel in St. Patrick’s Cathedral and a Procession and Solemn Mass at the Cathedral on Sunday morning, December 14.
