Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)

Picture
The American Foundation of Savoy Orders, Incorporated, was approved in 2005 for Roster Consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council ("ECOSOC") Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations ("NGO"). NGOs in the Roster Category are those that are considered to “make occasional and useful contributions to the work of ECOSOC or its subsidiary bodies.”

Recipients of the Savoy Orders Pigott Scholarships in the field of International Studies also periodically attend NGO briefings at sessions relating to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Scholarship recipients are required to write brief summaries of each meeting they attend. Foundation representatives guide and supervise the student's activities at the United Nations.
