Scholarships
Through a generous donation by the Mark Pigott Family, the American Foundation of Savoy Orders, in December 2010, established the Savoy Orders Pigott Scholarship Fund, to provide three scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students majoring in the Humanities and Fine Arts or International Studies. Because of an additional generous grant in 2011 from Cindy and Mark Pigott, the Savoy Foundation expanded the scholarship to three $2500 scholarships, based on scholastic achievement and potential.
Recipients of the International Affairs Scholarship become interns to the Savoy Foundation’s representatives at the United Nations and attend NGO briefings in person or remotely at the United Nations. Mr. Mark Pigott, former chairman and chief executive officer of PACCAR Inc., a Fortune 150 global technology company based in Bellevue, Washington, shares: “These scholarships will nurture education, particularly in the humanities as a starting point for careers in business, education and politics. They will provide an opportunity for young men and women to learn about other cultures and the benefits of collaboration in charting solutions to global challenges that will benefit all parties.”
The scholarship program is administered by the Board of Directors of the American Foundation of Savoy Orders and its Scholarship Selection Committee. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability or national origin.
